In response to a recommendation from an independent study team for NASA to play a more prominent role in understanding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), the agency announced Thursday the appointment of Mark McInerney as director of UAP research. The independent study was commissioned to better understand how NASA can contribute to ongoing government efforts to further study observations of unidentified celestial events.
